This is going to be a fun post for me! I’ve heard many people say that decorating your home with coffee table books is a “very millennial” thing to do. Well, it’s me! I have the coffee table books and cookbooks around my home to prove it. I do have a few older cookbooks from my mom sprinkled in, but most of them are from Amazon.
Coffee table books and cookbooks can be EXPENSIVE. I do find that Amazon has really great prices. If I had the time and patience, I would go to some vintage stores to find some great books. I plan on eventually shopping for some vintage and secondhand books to add to our home. I think that will add so much more character and coziness. As I’ve said before, my home is not finished!
You’ll notice that I have a lot of books about flowers. I can’t keep flowers in my home due to the cats, but I can at least have some books about them. I have some books about entertaining and home decor. There are so many books out there, and I think it’s fun to find books that are personal to you and reflect your personality. ALSO, it’s fun to pick one up off the shelf and read it. Or look at the photos of gorgeous homes and delicious desserts.
One of my favorite memories with my husband was a night when we took the decor off one of our bookshelves to dive into The Magnolia Bakery Handbook by Bobbie Lloyd. We sat on the couch together with a glass of wine and flipped through every page to see what fun dessert we would bake for that cold, cozy weekend. We chose the Pecan Pumpkin Bars, and WOW. They were divine and we will make them every fall! I think that could be a fun family activity. Sit down together with a fun cookbook and find something to cook together.
No need to bore you with any more stories about coffee table books & cookbooks. See how I styled them below! As I’ve mentioned before, I love ‘shopping my own home,’ and I move books around ALL of the time. So don’t be surprised if you see them shuffled around in the future.
Please see the link below to my amazon storefront where I have a list containing most of the coffee table and cookbooks on display in our home. #Ad

But Is It Practical?
I actually think decorating with coffee table books and cookbooks is pretty practical! Not only do they make beautiful decor, but they’re something you can actually use and enjoy. I love that I can move them around the house whenever I feel like changing things up without spending any more money.
Now, would I recommend spending $100 on a book just because the cover is pretty? Probably not. But if it’s a book you genuinely enjoy, I think it’s worth having in your home.
Worth bringing home if: You love the subject, enjoy flipping through the pages, and want decor that adds a little personality to your home.
Skip it if: You’re only buying it because it looks pretty on a shelf and you know you’ll never open it.
