It’s still 90 degrees here, but that won’t stop us from pretending it’s fall! I came across a video on Instagram of someone creating a beverage called a “Bourbon-Tini.” I decided to add a twist to it!
I can’t really create a blog and not include my love of cooking, baking, and making delicious cocktails. Most importantly, though, this isn’t going to be your typical food blog . My food is NOT pretty, I do NOT follow the recipe, I measure many things from the heart, and I likely made some kind of mistake along the way. I love to use a recipe as a guideline and then make it my own. That’s how my mom cooked, and I’m lucky to follow suit!
I have to add this disclaimer because I’m not going to have polished, perfect photos of food or drinks. They are going to be super quick snapshots before the drink/snack is devoured. You’ve been warned!
Bourbon-Cider Spritz
2 oz of your favorite bourbon
4 oz of your favorite apple cider
3 oz of Prosecco or Sprite
Honey & cinnamon-sugar for optional rim
Add the bourbon and cider to a shaker with some ice and shake it up. I rimmed my glass with honey and a cinnamon-sugar mixture—inserting a pic of my mistake below. Do NOT put a lot of honey on the rim; it will make a mess. Use as little as possible!
Add some ice to the glass after it’s rimmed, pour in the bourbon-cider mixture, and top with Sprite or Prosecco to add the bubbles.

Anddd…with a bit too much honey. That’s okay. I only made the mistake twice and had to wash the glasses and try again!

But is it practical? Well, I had to wash the glasses twice because of the honey, so maybe we’re using the word “practical” loosely here. But it was delicious, felt like fall even though it was 90 degrees outside, and I’ll definitely be making it again!
I hope you make this drink & enjoy it! And as always, adjust the recipe to your taste and what you like best!
